American Sign Language I

American Sign Language is being offered at the Dale Jackson Career Center for the first time this year. Students taking this course receive foreign language credit.

American Sign Language I an introduction to American Sign Language and the Deaf community. The main emphasis is on expressive skills (signing) while developing receptive skills (signing and understanding). The student will be guided in recognizing the interrelationships of language and will develop a cultural appreciation for the Deaf community.
