AUTOMOTIVE TECHNICIAN I

Students will be trained in the proper and safe use of hand tools, both common and specialized, hydraulic car lift and floor jacks, and impact tools. In addition, machines and equipment used in industry will be demonstrated. An in-depth look will be taken into the field of automotive theory, service, and repair.

AUTO TECHNICIAN II

Students will be trained in "high tech" area such as computer analysis of engine systems, and computer wheel alignment. More time will be allocated for "hands-on" training and students will participate in individual or small group projects.

AUTO SPECIALIZATION

Completion of hands-on experience requirement for ASE certification. There will be advanced hands-on and technical training and students will be eligible for the apprenticeship program to gain experience in the automotive field. They will also be expected to participate and compete in the Ford AAA skill competition and the VICA skills contest with an opportunity to win scholarships. Must be employed during final semester in a job related to auto technology.
