Joe Davis (Cabinetmaking Instructor at Dale Jackson Career Center) is proud to announce that his student; Michael Clark (Lewisville HS) is one of two students from Texas who have been selected to enter Hensel Phelps Craft Development Program. Hensel Phelps Construction Company is a multi-billion dollar company that has been a leader in the construction field since 1937.  They have created a craft development program, which takes high school seniors and trains them to become Superintendents.

Over 400 graduating seniors were recruited this spring. After these students were recruited an extensive interview process was conducted. This process includes an interview at the student’s school, another at the applicant’s home (with the student and family) and an interview at the prospective jobsite.  The interviewers also conducted a thorough background investigation, including interviewing references, teachers, former employers, community leaders and others familiar with the applicant’s skills and abilities.

After the interview process was completed only 10 of the 400 students nation wide were offered the opportunity to enter this program. The students who accepted this offer are given a  starting salary of $32,000 a year with benefits, and will  receive  hands on training while attending college courses (all paid for by Hensel Phelps). Hensel Phelps Craft Development Program Information
