The Dale Jackson Career Center opened in 1985 and is viewed as one of the premier career and technology centers in the state of Texas. Whether or not college is in their future, high schools students from LISD may enroll at the Career Center and learn the skills necessary to be competitive in the job market of the 21st century.

Who can attend the Dale Jackson Career Center?
Students that are at least sixteen years of age from the Learning Center, Lewisville, Marcus, The Colony, Flower Mound, and Hebron High Schools are invited to explore the opportunities available at DJCC.

Do students spend the entire day at the Career Center?
Career Center students spend a portion of their day at the Career Center and the remainder of their day at their home campus.

How do students get to the Career Center?
Bus transportation is provided by the district. Students may elect to drive their cars to the Career Center, but they must obey the official transportation policies.

Is the Career Center the same as the Learning Center?
No, although we are sometimes confused, probably because the Learning Center is located right next door to Dale Jackson on Edmonds. The Dale Jackson Career Center is a separate facility which trains students in specialized career skills.

How do I enroll for courses at Dale Jackson?
High school students will receive information about Dale Jackson early in the spring semester at the same time they receive enrollment info for their home campus. Students will have an opportunity to sign-up for Dale Jackson courses during the spring. Most courses at the Career Center are set-up on a first-come, first-served basis. Each high school has a limited amount of positions available per course, and some of the courses will fill up.
